Andrea Ludwig
Diplom-Übersetzerin, EN & FR > DE

Education and professional experience

After obtaining a degree in Translation Studies at Ruprecht-Karls University in Heidelberg, Germany, in the fall of 2011, I worked in the Paris headquarters of international fashion group Fast Retailing for 5 years.

During my first three and a half years at Fast Retailing, I worked in the Store Support Department where I was in charge of supporting the German-speaking stores (via translations and human resources). After that, I transferred to the Internal Audit Department where I further strengthened my knowledge of the functioning and working methods of different departments within an international retail company. During my time at Fast Retailing, I worked in 3 different languages (French, English and German) and regularly translated documents and communications for internal purposes.

In December 2016, I started working for a Parisian law firm as a part-time translator of legal texts (EN / FR / DE). At the same time, I set up my freelance translation business in order to put my language and translation skills to practice and support companies in their international endeavors.

In February 2017, the Regional Court of Frankfurt (Germany) made me an official French language translator by law, allowing me to provide certified translations of public documents needed for submission to the authorities.
